1. Course Description
Course Objectives
|
To understand the structures of carbon compounds at molecular level and to learn how to draw their structures. To learn chemical reactions of organic compounds. The carbon compounds are classified to some functional groups. To understand the nomenclatures and the synthetic methods of the classified organic compounds based on some representative reaction mechanisms. The team project activity in the topics of the synthesis of carbon compounds provide understanding of reaction mechanisms and analysis of carbon compounds with proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Infrared (IR) spectroscopy.
